Hi,

I certainly hope that IRL will rise up to the challenge and adopt a formula that will accommodate several manufacturers and privateers alike. The series should also look seriously into renewability (in ways "green" and otherwise) and energy recovery. Variable vane turbos are one proven technology, but braking and heat energy recovery are also emerging as serious contenders.

The current economical and other various environments are challenging, but for those who dare; crises will become opportunities. ALMS is already showing great commitment in pushing renewability to the fore. Racing is a human activity, so there will be missteps – but that doesn't diminish the rewards that are just waiting to be realised. I urge IRL to explore how the series can serve as an encouraging platform for emerging technologies and share in the profits when some of those are more widely adopted.

And then something a bit off-topic... Mr. Kirby, I'm a devoted reader of your column on your own website. This week, though, you seem to have posted a duplicate of your previous article. If there is a more recent one in existence (as I suspect), please put it online. Thank you for your trouble.
