Listening to the experts

Your responses to our reader survey in the July 2006 issue were very positive, and so were your comments when the Motor Sport team met readers at events during the summer. Many of you, though, have requested classic car and modern Formula 1 content in the magazine, and we’ve listened to your views. Starting in this issue is a new Formula 1 column. Each month it will focus on a significant matter of moment in contemporary F1. Also, we begin a regular classic-car series. each car featured will, of course, have competition heritage, and we start with the iconic Lancia Delta HF Integrale.

Our focus, though, stays with the history of the sport, and there’s a wealth of it in this issue – we delve into the varied career of Jim Clark to take a look at his efforts behind the wheel of sports cars, rally cars and NASCARs (p36), profile Jackie Stewart’s Tyrrell 006 – the actual chassis with which he won his third F1 title (p59). We launch a new track-test series by taking a Cooper-Maserati T86 for a few laps of Donington Park (p50), have lunch with Brian Redman (p72), and much more…

Please let me know your thoughts on the issue via e-mail to [email protected] or in writing – but please note our new address: 26-30 Old Church Street, Chelsea, London SW3 5BY. We also have new phone numbers – see right.
