Noise abatement

Silencing regulations which looked likely to damage historic racing in Britain have been set aside. Previously, all such events in 1989 were scheduled to comply with RAC MSA noise regulations, which would have meant silencers on 250Fs and ERAs.

Now, following strong representations from clubs and circuit owners, the latest meeting of the MSA Technical Committee has excepted certain groups including Grand Prix cars and single-seaters up to 1965, and sports-cars up to 1961.
