Motor Sport on Magazine

Motor Sport magazine was founded in 1924 and initially carried the title The Brooklands Gazette. The enthusiastically random mixture of contents gave it a life of its own, veering from Grands Prix (F1) to club trials, testing cars, boats and even aircraft, interviewing the famous, the forgotten and the frankly anonymous. Bill Boddy stepped up to the editor’s chair in 1936 and his encyclopaedic knowledge of the arcane byways of the motoring world made the magazine a vital historical archive. Motor Sport continues to be intelligent, opinionated and knowledgeable on racing, road cars and motor racing history, contrasting the sport’s past with current events.
