At the Festival of Speed this year our ‘senior contributing writer’ Andrew Frankel took a Porsche 908/3 up the hill at Goodwood. This was no ordinary Porsche 908/3 (is there such a thing?!) either…

Andrew makes it clear in the video just what a pleasure it was to drive, but something we should mention is that the noise of the car is just, quite simply, awesome.

That looks fun. If I get a green jumpsuit and put a MotorSport patch on it, will they let me have a go?
I would like to see that 908/3 go up the BARC Gurston down speed hill climb.
Andrew is a very lucky man. Good luck to him.
I saw Leo Kinnunen win at Anderstorp, Sweden in 1969.
The way he “threw” his 908 round the Carosell curve is styck on my retina forever!
His raceline was different from all the others.
“The others was all T70 mk3:s, I think.
The nimble Porsche, in the hands of Kinnunen, seemed very “handy” round the corners.
