The Story of Brooklands

by W. Boddy, Editor of Motor Sport

Volume Two, like the first volume, is based on the official B.A.R.C. records and contains authentic lap-times, etc. It runs to some 300 pages and contains 85 illustrations and more than 100,000 words. It covers the period 1925 to 1932 inclusive, when cars like Birkin’s “blower” Bentley, Cobb’s V12 Delage, Kaye Don’s Sunbeams, Eyston’s 8-litre Panhard, etc., were making history. The classic long-distance races and record attempts are fully covered.

The Motor says : — “Boddy takes the reader lap by lap and almost mile by mile through every race put on at the Weybridge track.”

The Motor World says: — “The ‘Story of Brooklands’ merits a place in every sporting motorist’s library and its reference sections will be found invaluable in correctly saying ‘Who did what; where and when’.”

Veteran Car Club says: — “The many books written about motor racing have been characterised by a marked degree of ‘sameness,’ . . . it comes therefore as refreshing relief to read ‘ The Story of Brooklands’.”
