Lesney have brought out another miniature in their eagerly awaited “Models of Yesteryear” series. It is No. Y-3, a 1910 Benz limousine, only 3 1/2 in. long, but accurately modelled, to a scale of 54 : 1, on the car in the Daimler-Benz Museum at Stuttgart. This little model is finished in cream and green, with the brass-work correctly depicted, and has spoked wheels, head and side-lamps, filler-cap, gear and brake levers, steering wheel on a long column, spare tyre,petrol tank, dumb-irons, springs, occasional seats and dashboard details, but no pedals. The hood is down on the taxi-like body. At the modest British retail price of 5s. this Lesney Benz should sell like a Model-T! Lesney also have a 2 1/2 in.-long, fully-equipped Land-Rover fire truck, to 77 : I scale, with ladders. No. 57 in their “New Matchbox” series, at 2s.

Corgi have reintroduced their vintage 3-litre Bentley and Lotus Elan with John Steed and Emma Peel of “The Avengers” as the drivers, and (No. 440) a Ford Consul Cortina estate car with imitation wood body decor and golfers’ accessories.—W. B.
