The BM. C R C. Annual Reunion

When the second post-war reunion of ” Bemsee ” took place at Bush House, Aldwych, Secretary Cliff Lewis had much pleasure in announcing that the membership had grown from 100 at the first post-war gathering to 301.

B.M.C.R.C. members had upheld the clubs name throughout the season wherever road racing took place and the Club was proud to number amongst its members the finest riders of the present age, as well as names that have made motor-cycling history since the beginning of the century.

Everyone seemed to be present, from the Club’s President, Sir A. Lee Guiness, and Chairman, E. C. E. Baragwaneth, down to the keenest amateur rider and equally keen racing spectators. In between much racing talk, wives and girl friends struggled to get the menfolk on to the dance floor, as it seemed to be the only occasion throughout the year when “the boys” hadn’t got their bicycles with them.

During the interval the President presented the awards won during the past season and by the end of the evening the “mere males” appeared to have won the day for the various discussion groups completely outnumbered the dancers. — D. S. J.
