The Allard Owners Club held its first annual dinner and dance at the Frascati Restaurant on January 8th. Sydney Allard was stranded in Paris at 1 o’clock the same day and caused amusement and excitement in his description of the journey. Dinner commenced at 8 o’clock, when a member was heard to remark “obviously the only way to get a good dinner is to buy an Allard.” After the toasts and speeches, which were given by “Goff” Imhof, Cyril Wick and Sydney Allard, the MC, Mr C Nugent, saw to it that everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. This will long be remembered by those present as one of the most suecessfully sociable club dinners to date.
