Bugattis at Prescott

Bugatti Owners’ Club

It is good that recently books have been published on the history of the Shelsley Walsh, South Harting and Bo’ness speed hillclimbs, and that another, about Prescott, has joined them; all very important and very much part of the British sporting scene.

Bugattis At Prescott – Seventy Years of Speed, by the Bugatti OC, contains 83 splendid black and white pictures at this pleasant venue, some of cars driven flat-out on the hill’s curves and corners. The text describes events from 1931 to the present day at this deservedly popular place, how improvements to it were made and the notable drivers who contributed to the story.

The foreword is by BOC president Tony Rippon, who notes that “eight cylinders firing on full song never fails to raise the heartbeat”. Sponsorship is from the Blockley Tyre Company, with the BOC and the Bugatti Trust. The book is available from the Prescott Regalia Shop, £9.99 plus £2.50 UK P&P.
