Yorkshire to host Tour Britannia

Tour Britannia will break new ground in 2009 when it moves into Yorkshire for the first time.

Running from September 7-9 the classic race and rally tour will start at Silverstone on Monday, head north on Tuesday for a race at Cadwell Park and special stages in Yorkshire, followed by an overnight halt at Harrogate. Day three will include a race at Croft and more special stages.

“Over 50 per cent of the route will be new,” said organiser Fred Gallagher. “Given the economic situation, we considered shortening the event, but the competitors were unanimous about keeping it at three days.”
