Itala moves on

Pleasant surprise: George Daniels called by (above), to show me the famous 12-litre 1908 GP Itala, which he has bought from the Williamsons, who cared for it and used it so well after Cecil Clutton had campaigned in it VSCC events for some 50 years, with successful and spectacular results.

The old car is going as well as ever, and George intends to put back the Vincents touring body it wore from about 1911, after its llth place (driven by Cagno) in the French GP and its races at Brooklands (best lap 101.8mph) were over. Roger Collings drove the mighty Itala back and was greatly impressed.
