A Firestone monopoly

Sir,

We at Firestone are very proud of the fact that for the 40th consecutive time the famous Indianapolis 500-mile race has been won on Firestone tyres.

Parnelli Jones the winner, Jim Clark second, and every other driver in the race bought and used Firestone tyres. Despite stresses caused by a hot track and a new record speed, there were no tyre problems of any kind encountered during the race.

I thought your readers might be interested to know of this fine performance.
