NORTH-WEST LONDON M.G.

THE annual open-to-Centre Coventry Cup Trial takes place this year on Saturday, June 6th. This event is open to all members of clubs in the South Midland Centre driving solo motorcycles and sidecars. To allow as large an entry as possible for a Saturday event to be received, the trial will start at 2 p.m. near Slough. It is believed that this afternoon start will make it possible for most of the riders who are unable to spare the morning to participate. After passing through some interesting country in the Henley area, main roads will be traversed to Birdlip, where competitors will find something new in hills. The finish”will be at Birdlip, about 8 p.m., and a social evening will follow. The organizers are arranging for special low terms for accommodation for the night. An interesting innovation appears in the awards lists. Special cups are offered for 100 per cent. performance, whilst petrol lighters will be awarded to those who put up a really good show, but just

fail to preserve a clean sheet. In addition, there are the usual club spoons, bronze medals and team awards. Further particulars can be obtained from the hon.. organizer, Mr. H. A. Davies, ” Clyst,” 1, Eglington Road, Chingford,.

OWNER-DRIVERS’ CLUB.

HE trial held in the Chiltern country some weeks ago proved a great success and there were 15 starters.

The start was from a café on the Reading-Maidenhead main road, whence the course led to Maiden’s Grove, the first observed hill. Here the best climb was made by J. R. Temple (M.G. Midget), and also outstanding were R. Fuller and H. Fox (M.G. Midgets). Lewknor Hill was the scene of the brake test. A stopand-restart test was held on Kop Hill, after which the route led to Kimble Lane, which was deep in mud and water.

All competitors checked in at the finish at the Lambert Arms Hotel.
