Austin A30/A35 Owners Club

The A35 was a very familiar sight in the ‘Fifties and ‘Sixties, but not many people will remember seeing a pick-up version. Only 500 of these were built, as they were expensive and held little cargo. Now the A30/A35 Club are trying to locate those which remain, and are hoping that readers will be able to help. The person to contact if you know of one of these vehicles is Derek Lamb, 17 Ormsby Drive, Potters Bar, Hertfordshire, and no doubt he will also pass on information about membership.

SMOG over Britain

Not a prediction, but the announcement of the formation of a UK section of the Sprite/Midget Owners Group. So far, members have tended to be from the Midlands, but the catchment area is increasing. There is a monthly UK newsletter, plus a quarterly magazine from the parent group in the USA, and the Group claim to have already unearthed some obsolete parts — but you have to join to be able to buy them! Acting Secretary is P. J. Dicks, 38 Howdles Lane, Brownhills, Walsall, West Midlands.

Crayford Convertible Car Club

Over the years the coachbuilding firm of Crayford has applied its talents to many different vehicles, and a club has now been formed for owners of any of these, whether soft-top or estate / hatchback conversions. The current “standard” model is the Fiesta Firefly convertible, produced under licence from Ford; drivers of these and earlier cars should contact Rory Cronin, 17 Carey Road, Moordown, Bournemouth.
