John Young gave his rare Dodge Dart GT its first competitive outing in the FIA Pre-1966 Touring Car race at Donington Park in May and ran with the pace-setting Ford Mustangs until gearbox failure forced it into retirement "There's still some sorting to do," said Young, who plans to do more races in the FIA series this year.

The final date in the Grand Prix Masters calendar has been finalised. The 3-litre Formula One cars will race at Donington Park on August 28-29 alongside the Group C cars, rather than at the Oulton Park Gold Cup, which was the other option open to the series for that weekend. The cars will race twice, as is now customary for the revamped series (see Inside Line, page 23).

The Motor Racing Legends Pre-War Sports Car Series will make history at the Nürburgring in June when two Stutzes race together on a European circuit. Norman Barrs, owner of the 1929 Le Mans replica Blackhawk, said: "The last record we can find of two Stutzes racing together in Europe was at Le Mans in 1930." The second Stutz entered for the series is the 1928 Blackhawk of American George Holman.

Top Hat Racing, in conjunction with the event organisers, will be promoting a pre-war sportscar race at Chimay on July 31-August 1 during the annual Grand Prix des Frontières meeting at the Belgian track. The pair of half-hour races will be run in memory of Jules Buisseret, the founder of the event which ran for the first time in 1926.
