CONTINENTAL NOTES.

THE ITALIAN i,000 MILES RACE REGULATIONS FOR THE FAMOUS RACE OVER OPEN ROADS NOW AVAILABLE.

The famous Italian race, which is generally recognised as the most severe production car race in the world, will be run this year on April 8th and 9th. The regulations have now been issued, and. show little change from last year, except for ” utility ” vehicles. As is usual with Continental events, a tempting amount of prize money is being offered, totalling 200,000 lires. The task of the fastest machines will be a difficult one, for they axe the last to start, the order being as follows :—

I. ” Utility ” cars up to 1,100 c.c.

2. “Utility ” cars over 1,100 c.c.

3. Sports cars up to 1,100 c.c.

4. Saloon cars.

5. Sports cars from 1,100 c.c. to 1,500 c.c.

6. Sports cars over 1,500 c.c. The team of M.G. Magnettes will be composed of Lord Howe and H. C. Hamilton, Bernard Rubin and Sir Henry Birkin, George Eyston. and Count Lurani. Lord Howe,

Sir Henry Birkin and George Eyston have already been round the course, and from all accounts the Magnette seems to have acquitted itself with distinction. The car and crew called at the Ferrari stable, where the car was examined with great interest for a team is to be run by the Italian group through the season.

Probable winners of the 1,000 Miles race will be found in the entry of a 2,300 c.c. Alfa Romeo by Ferrari, to be driven by the terrific combination of Nuvolari and Borzacchini.
