Sir,
The Nottingham Sports Car Club, greatly impressed by the efforts of the Midland A.C., in raising funds for the B.R.M. machinery lorry, has been considering ways and means of furthering this effort, and the following suggestions have been put forward by members in order that funds may be raised to assist the B.R.M. project generally.

Areas to be allotted on a national scale, to responsible motoring clubs. The organising dub shall undertake financial responsibility, i.e., the subscriber shall signify by entering on the subscription lists, his name, address, and the amount he is willing to give, and the organising club shall inform the subscriber by post that they will he pleased to receive his, or her, donation to the B.R.M. Supporters Club, and issue a receipt per pro that club. This obviates any inconvenience to interested concerns, i.e., the Motor Trade, displaying literature and subscription lists.

Other suggested ways whereby funds may be raised are exhibitions of interesting cars, including racing cars, film shows, lectures by prominent motoring personalities, to be followed up by a local Press publicity campaign. It is further suggested that one meeting per year, such as a conceurs d’elegance, driving tests, or speed events, shall be run as a benefit for the B.R.M. project.

If 200,000 people gave 5s. per year, £50,000 could be realised, This Is not excessive, remembering that 110,000 people saw the British Grand Prix, and surely the majority of readers would contribute 5s. to this fund, if proper measures were taken to collect it.

I am Yours, etc.
H. G. Holt, Chairman, N.S.C.C.
