With Keith Baldwin and Frank Lyons hitting trouble, Mike Wrigley’s Lola T332 had a clear run to the flag in FORCE’s F5000 Donington race.

Motor Sport’s Grand Prix editor Simon Taylor won the Historic Car class at the Brighton Speed Trials. Driving his HWM-Chevrolet, he ran 14.04sec for the quarter-mile course. The day’s proceedings were sadly darkened by the death of Kougar exponent Brian Shrimpton who had a heart attack during a practice run.

A March 717 shared by John Grant and Frank Bradley won the hour-long International Supersports race at Thruxton. Only 11 cars started.
