Miniature news

Meccano’s latest Dinky Toy road vehicles is a Ford Transit ambulance to 1/40 scale, detailed as expected from these sturdy miniatures and 129 mm. in length. The reference number is 276 and the recommended UK retail price £1.83. A new 1976/77 Dinky Toys catalogue, useful to collectors is available for 5p, not bad for a 48-page colour production.

The latest models received from Grand Prix Models of Radlett are the 1953 Ferrari 375 Pininfarina Le Mans coupe’, the Aston Martin Competition Zagato coupe, the prey-men tioned Lotus Elite Le Mans coupe, winner in 1962 of the Index of Efficiency, and the 1953 Le Mans Porsche coupe. All are beautifully finished and have much detail and correct wheels, etc., as expected of the Classic Car Kits. They have their surprisingly efficient handbrakes on apparently, as the wheels do not revolve— which means they stay parked and do not attract so much attention from sticky-fingered kids! Grand Prix Models, of 173/5, Vatting Street, Radleu, I lerts., have now issued “Four Small Wheels, as a monthly guide to the many available motor car and commercial vehicle miniatures and offer “Model Kits and Hand-made Model Cars” at Sop. Watch for their white-metal kit for constructing a Classic Cars 1924 30/98 Vauxhall Wensum. W.B.
