It was a splendid idea of John Aldington's of AFN Ltd to revive the former Stanley Cup Inter-Club Contest which was decided on race results at various circuits, starting at Brooklands in 1930 and finishing at the Crystal Palace in 1939, and to give £1,000 to the Red Cross into the bargain, that organisation having served motoring sport so well down the years.
