Michael MacDowel

Popular competitor Michael MacDowel has died aged 83. He had a long career in the sport and was a double British hillclimb champion in the 1970s. MacDowel started racing sports cars in the 1950s and joined the Cooper team in 1956. He also raced single-seaters and made one GP start, in an F2 Cooper T43 at Rouen in 1957.  

Michael McKee

BRDC member Michael McKee, who has died aged 82, was once team-mate to Peter Arundell in the Lotus Formula Junior team. McKee was introduced to racing by Jack Sears and rose to become chief instructor at his local Jim Russell Racing Drivers’ School at Snetterton. He retired at the end of 1961, after racing in F2. 

Arthur Senior

A rally driver for more than half a century, Arthur Senior has died aged 84. He drove for Jaguar and Reliant on events such as the Monte Carlo Rally and Liège-Sofia-Liège in the 1950s and 1960s after cutting his teeth on events run by his
local Morecambe Car Club. He was inspired to return in 1982 and remained active until 2013.
