Remeber August 4th

The W. Hants & Dorset C.C. race meetings are always well worth seeing, and not, as one cynic has it. “because they include such exciting accidents.” In actual fact these meetings are splendidly organised, and the club deserves better luck than it has had. Deprived of Blandford and Thruxton, on August 4th goes to Ibisley, between Ringwood and Fordingbridge on the main Bournemouth-Salisbury Road. One hundred and twenty-five entries have come in, some 55 of them sports cars, nearly 45 “500s.” Practice is on August 3rd. 2-6.30 p.m. Racing starts at 12.30 p.m. on the Saturday and will range from 5-lap 500ce.c. heats to a 20-lap Formula Libre race. New circuits are always interesting this one measures 2.1 miles a lap. The only admission charge will be 10s. for car-parking, an excellent bargain, especially for those whose cars have strong springs!
