DENZIL MONIS

A long-time devotee of the magazine, Denzil Monis has a collection of Motor Sports going back to 1949, when as he puts it “I first set foot on this race track of life”. He sent us a selection of Grand Prix images, but we were tickled by this shot of a more grass-roots event our own Jenks (Denis Jenkinson) with his Tribsa (Triumph engine, BSA frame) bike at the Cricket St Thomas hillclimb in September 1982. Although he mixed with all the Grand Prix greats, Jenks was

equally at home up to his elbows in oil in a grass paddock with other ‘bike and car people.
