Austin Seven Speedy Sports

Sir,

Mention of the Guernsey Motor Museum as having an A7 Speedy therein prompted me to request full details of this car.

Over the past year or so, I’ve been recapping on all the known surviving cars which, excluding the Guernsey car, number 14 in total, ranging from restored and complete, to very incomplete and non-running.

Could I ask two favours of you:

1. Ask any Speedy-owning readers who have not been in contact with me before to write to me as soon as possible giving full details of their vehicle.

2. Let me have any details of the Guernsey car, even a Reg. No. would help. I wrote to the Museum over a month ago and have not had a reply so far.

I’m anxious to complete this survey of the Speedies (I have been rebuilding one myself since 1966!) as soon as possible it’s taken a year so far so the A7 Sports Register/Chassis Registers can be brought up to date. Mike Stewart of Enfield did the original Speedy research about to years ago.
