Suzuki F1 plan is back on again

Former grand prix driver Aguri Suzuki’s dream of entering Formula One as a team boss is alive again after his plan received approval from the existing 10 squads.

Suzuki’s Super Agurl operation missed the FIA’s deadline for entries for 2006, but Is reapplying after receivng a unanimous vote from the other teams.

The Honda-powered team plans to start the year with modified Arrows A23 chassis, which raced in 2002, but its own car should come on stream mid-season.

Takuma Sato, the only Japanese driver other than Suzuki to score an F1 podium, is likely to be joined by Formula Nippon front-runner Yuji Ide at the team.
