New noteworthy booklets
John Gray of the STD register spent four years researching fully the W&G du Cros Ltd. connections with Talbot from 1908-1935.
The result has been issued to members in a nicely produced and illustrated 72-page booklet which goes into great detail, with many illustrations of factory buildings and interiors, W&G commercial vehicles, and buses, taxis and ambulances. Some of the data will be interesting to those studying coachwork history.
While a few copies remain, John is prepared to release them for £3 p&p.

The most recent tide from Shire Publications of Princes Risborough is Nick Baldein’s Proprietary Engines for Vehicles (ISBN 7478 0496 6) £3.50. Never has so much data been packed into such an inexpensive book — it is not surprising Shire has drawn on the Michael Sedgwick Trust to finance it.
Nick’s great knowledge of his subject not only covers almost every conceivable engine but adds facts about designers, factories, numbers built and cars using each engine. It also includes historical correspondence, catalogue pages and so on.
