Adam Cooper
We don’t normally see Adam as our Hollywood reporter, but the new Senna movie is a special case. Motor racing hasn’t proved a commercial success in cinemas in the past, but this film could buck the trend. It’s a remarkable piece of work, so we asked Adam to uncover the backstory behind the making of an unlikely movie. It’s released in the UK on June 3. We urge you to go and see it.

Eoin Young
Eoin regrets that he only kept a diary for his first year in the UK. Luckily for us that one volume is full of colourful tales of criss-crossing the Continent as what Denny Hulme thought was his mechanic. As Denny discovered, the truth was far from that. We rarely run two-parters, but Eoin’s story was so enjoyable we’ve made an exception. The second part of his 1961 odyssey will run next month.

Simon Taylor
It’s been a busy month for Simon. Apart from streaking down to Monaco for Lunch With David Coulthard, he also punted his HWM up the Shelsley Walsh and Prescoff hillclimbs, winning his class in both events, and carried off Best in Show at the RREC South of England rally in his Gurney Nuffing Derby Bentley. Quite decent of those Rolls chaps to let him enter in the wrong sort of car, really.

Richard Heseltine
A glass of wine, a credit card and a laptop can be dangerous. On the generally accepted truism that a gentleman can never own too many Alfas, Richard’s eyes gleamed when he spoffed a 2600 Berlina on a well-known auction website. Luckily someone beat him to it, so for now he has just the one, a snow-white Alfasud. Okay, so a wheel fell off it once, but that’s in the past…
