1st Japanese G.P. (May 3rd and 4th)

Suzuka Circuit

The first International motor-race meeting in Japan took place on the new Suzuka circuit in the form of two races for sports and G.T. cars, and a miscellaneous European entry took part. On May 3rd a 20-lap race took place over the 6-kilometre circuit and the following day a race over 30 laps was held. The first four places were the same for both races, Rosinsky being fifth on the first day with an Aston Martin DB4GT and von Hanstein being fifth on the second day with a 2-litre Porsche Carrera.

1st: P. Warr (Lotus 23).

2nd: M. Knight (Lotus 23).

3rd: A. Owen (Lotus 23).

4th: P. Dumay (Ferrari 250GT).
