Silent Knight

Sir,

I am intrigued by the White Knight light car, mentioned last year. I suspect that the engine makers should have been shown as Knight & Kilbourne (not Kilburn), an engine in a car of their own manufacture American lint who were formed, circa 1906, to market the Chas. Y. Knight sleeve-valve called the Silent Knight. The car was not a success and the production ceased circa 1909. Subsequently Daimler adopted the design, which later became successful in the States in the Willys and other makes. Strange that one should have been brought to England, rebuilt with a similar name (and by a carpet manufacturer !) and should then have survived. I wonder if there are any others States-side?
