Marco Andretti has made his sports car debut in his father’s team, in a race his grandfather won three times. The 21-year-old drove for Andretti Green Racing, co-owned by Michael Andretti, in the Sebring 12 Hours, a race Mario Andretti won in 1967, ’70 and ’72.

Japanese Yojiro Terada is on course for his 29th start at the Le Mans 24 Hours this June. The 61-year-old has put together a deal to race a Mugen-engined Courage LMP1 prototype run by the Mooncraft team.

The new LMP2 prototype built by British team Embassy Racing hit the track for the first time last month. The Zytek-powered WF01 which will race in the Le Mans 24 Hours and the Le Mans Series has been designed by Peter Elleray, who was responsible for the Bentley SPEED 8.

Ashley Cooper, 27, was killed in the Aussie V8 feeder series at Adelaide at the end of February. He died after his self-run Holden Commodore, which he was racing in the Fujitsu Development Series, hit the Turn 8 wall at an estimated 120mph.

Alan Docking Racing will not be present in the British Formula 3 Championship for the first time since 1983. Team boss Alan Docking, who also runs the Australian A1GP team, has blamed a lack of funded drivers for what he claims will be a one-year sabbatical.

Michael and Graham Turner will hold their annual art exhibition on April 4-6 at Halton House, RAF Halton, Wendover, Bucks. This year’s Atlantic single-seater series will race on under IMSA sanction following the bankruptcy of Champ Car, supporting the American Le Mans Series. Sponsors Mazda and the Cooper Tire & Rubber Company have confirmed their commitment to the junior formula, which kicks off its 35th season at Long Beach in April.
