Half the field for the G.P. de la Blecherette for sports cars under 1 1/2-litres which preceded the Lausanne G.P., was composed of M.G.s., five TCs and a K3 Magnette. These M.G.s were opposed by Cisitalia, B.M.W., etc., but they won easily, Hubert Patthey finishing first and Ernest Seiler second. Patthey’s own M.G. having given trouble in practice, he borrowed a car in which two representatives of the North Downs Engineering Co., Ltd., had motored to the race. This car, a Nordec-supercharged TC M.G. Midget, ran with full equipment, even to “G.B.” plate and luggage carrier, while it had not been serviced for over 2,500 miles. Seiler drove an unblown TC M.G.
