Talbots figured twice on the results board at the scenic hilIclimb: Robert Heelis (right) collected a handicap win among the big sportscars with the impressive 1936 Talbot-DarracqT150C, while Barry Clark’s 1913 Talbot beat the other non aero-engined Edwardians. Spencer Flack made FTD in his Cooper-Bristol, Tony Stephens took ERA RI 28 up quickest of the prewar cars, and fastest vintage driver was Westie Mitchell ( 1928 AC/GN). Simon and Dick Smith contrived to be first and second in l’A-litre sports in their Frazer Nash, below.

BRDC Silverstone circuit Jubilee party, October 2

BRDC President Lord Hesketh greeted over 6,500 guests as Silverstone celebrated its Golden Jubilee with a giant awards ceremony at the Northamptonshire circuit this month.

Duncan Rickett’s ERA E-type (left) starred, while other guests included Martin Brundle and Jackie Stewart (above). MOTOR SPORT readers voted the Lotus 25 greatest F1 car of all time.

Historic Motorsport Awards dinner
