Win a day out at Silverstone

On Tuesday November 5, Silverstone Circuits — in association with the John Watson Performance Driving Centre — is organising the inaugural ProCelebrity Challenge. In company with the UK’s other leading motoring titles, Motor Sport will be there to participate. And so will one of you.

Each magazine’s team will comprise one member of staff, one reader, one celebrity (or a racing driver will do) and one other ragamuffin (origin unimportant). The competition itself will involve a series of challenges in all manner of different vehicles, including all-terrain ‘bikes, karts and skid control cars.

On the day, Silverstone is offering prizes to the readers who fare best. (There will also be awards presented to the most destructive participants.) Competence beyond the call of duty will be rewarded with a full day’s introduction to circuit racing or rallying, according to your preference, worth around £170, and there are other awards for the runners-up.

To nominate a reader, there were a couple of options. We could either sit in our local newsagent and nab the first person we saw buying a copy, or — in the interests of geographical parity — we could set a simple quiz. Rather than limit our options to passers-by in London EC2, we’d like you to answer four simple questions correctly, fill in the accompanying slip, and your name will be entered into our random draw.

The closing date for entries is Tuesday, October 22. The winner will be notified by telephone. Please note that entrants must hold a full driving licence. (Those holding a competition licence may be nominated to play with the driving school’s single-seaters.) A sense of adventure will be useful, a sense of humour essential.
