Herbert heads the stars at Goodwood Revival

Johnny Herbert heads a stunning line-up of famous drivers who will contest the St Mary’s Trophy saloon car race during the Goodwood Revival Meeting in September. Each star name will be partnered with an amateur racer, often the owners of the cars, which are all from the 1957-66 era.

Three-time grand prix winner Herbert will lead the stars in the extended two-driver 20-lap race, racing a Mini Cooper S. Johnny, who retired from Formula One at the end of 2000, will also race a Ferrari 330 LM/B in the RAC TT Celebration Race, sharing with Peter Hardman.

Other Minis will be raced by period aces John Rhodes, Warwick Banks and Richard Longman.

In Jaguar MkVlIs will be Sir Stirling Moss, Sir Jack Brabham and US sportscar veteran Bob Tullius, while Derek Bell, Win Percy and Frank Sytner will all race MkII Jaguars. Scheduled to race Lotus Cortinas are Jackie Oliver, Gerry Marshall and Tony Dron.

Le Mans winner Oliver will also compete in a Lightweight Jaguar E-type in the TT, racing alongside Alfa Romeo TZ1s, Cobras, Corvettes and Lotus Elites. Other IT drivers will include Stefan Johansson, Henri Pescarolo and Richard Attwood.

On two wheels, Barry Sheene will race a Manx Norton against MV Agusta, Gilera and Moto Guzzi.
