MORE DEMI

SIR,

For two years I was the gofer at Ivor Bueb’s Ecurie Demi Litre, and so I enjoyed very much your story on his Cooper 500. It was most interesting, and certainly more complimentary than the last feature you ran about him some years ago.

There are several other cars of his of historical note: his 1100/1500cc Cooper sportscar is raced by John Clark and his Lotus 12 by Peter Gooch. Nor should we forget the works Jaguar D-type he shared with Mike Hawthorn to win the 1955 Le Mans 24 Hours — now owned by Nigel Webb and spectacularly raced by Win Percy.

I still have a Castle Combe programme dated October 7, 1955. This was one of Ivor’s best meetings — three wins and one second. JAM, YOURS ETC, TONY ED WARDS, GLOUCESTER
