With G\u00fcnther Steiner hired as Team Principal, a chassis was commissioned from Dallara and, crucially, Haas signed a technical agreement with Ferrari. As well as headquarters in Kannapolis, North Carolina, the team established its European base in Manor\u2019s old Banbury factory.<\/p>\n<p>That Haas were worthy newcomers was confirmed by Romain Grosjean scoring points in three of the first four races of 2016. Haas-Ferrari eventually finished a creditable eighth in its debut F1 campaign and repeated that performance in 2017. Kevin Magnussen qualified fifth in Australia at the start of 2018 and both cars finished in the top five in Austria. Fifth in that year\u2019s constructors\u2019 standings, Haas had its first title sponsor for the 2019 \u2013 adopting the black-and-gold colours of Rich Energy. That association turned sour by mid-season and Haas could not translate impressive qualifying pace into tangible results so it slipped to ninth in the championship.<\/p>\n<p>Originally a sponsor of Hendrick Motorsports, Gene Haas formed his own NASCAR team (Haas CNC Racing) in 2003. He enticed Tony Stewart to join six years later as both co-owner and lead driver and the renamed Stewart-Haas Racing has twice won the NASCAR title \u2013 for Stewart in 2011 and Kevin Harvick in 2014.<\/p>\n<p>After its promising debut seasons, Haas encountered a mixture of highs and struggles over the next decade.<\/p>\n<p>The team retained its Ferrari partnership and finished ninth in 2020, with Romain Grosjean\u2019s dramatic, fiery crash in Bahrain becoming a defining moment &#8211; one he fortunately survived with only minor injuries.<\/p>\n<p>In 2021, Haas opted to focus fully on future regulations and fielded rookies Mick Schumacher and Nikita Mazepin, ending the season without points.<\/p>\n<p>Magnussen returned in 2022 following the termination of Mazepin\u2019s contract, delivering an immediate impact with a points finish in Bahrain and a maiden pole position in the Sao Paulo sprint. Haas finished eighth that year &#8211; its best result since 2018.<\/p>\n<p>The competitive momentum slipped in 2023, with Magnussen and Nico H\u00fclkenberg unable to arrest a drop to last in the constructors\u2019 standings due to persistent issues with tyre wear and race pace.<\/p>\n<p>A leadership shake-up saw Ayao Komatsu succeed G\u00fcnther Steiner as team principal for 2024. Under Komatsu, Haas bounced back, achieving seventh in the championship thanks to regular points from both drivers.<\/p>\n<p>For 2025, Haas introduced a refreshed line-up: Esteban Ocon joined from
