Ask John Hogan: Podcast

F1

He worked behind the scenes to put Marlboro money into Formula 1 – we asked John Hogan your questions for our podcast

John Hogan joined Marlboro parent company Philip Morris in 1973 and he pioneered Formula 1 sponsorship. He’ll be joining us for the Motor Sport podcast, and now’s your chance to ask F1’s ‘Marlboro Man’ your questions.

He not only shaped the careers of drivers such as Niki Lauda, Emerson Fittipaldi, James Hunt, Ayrton Senna and Alain Prost, but BRM, McLaren and Ferrari were fuelled by Marlboro money. Hogan stepped down from Philip Morris in 2002, when Michael Schumacher’s Ferraris were donning Marlboro logos.
