Formula 1 design legend Rory Byrne will have a hand in the new \u2019Powered by Ferrari\u2019 A1GP contender. <\/p>\n

Byrne, who stepped down as chief designer at Ferrari in 2006, will be a consultant on the project to build an all-new single-seater powered by a 600bhp version of the Italian manufacturer\u2019s 430 GT2 V8. The car will be designed in Britain by John Travis, best known for his work in Champ Car. <\/p>\n

A1GP boss Tony Teixeira said: “Rory Byrne will be a design consultant in overall charge of the project.
