Sir,<\/p>\n

You mentioned in “Cars In Books” an “open, screenless, racing car” at Belvoir Castle. This car is still very much a thing of the present and I enclose some photos. It is a 1908 20\/25 hp Renault, though I don’t know who made the body. The screen (Auster) now fitted was obviously a later addition and in my opinion doesn’t add to the appearance.<\/p>\n

The Renault was last running about seven years ago and I am hoping to get it running again some time this summer.<\/p>\n

The Renault limousine and R-R Ghost which followed it are, alas, no longer at Belvoir.<\/p>\n

Incidentally, the Renault was used by the late Duke up till about 1935.<\/p>\n
