The news concerning changes to the Goodwood Revival brought to mind a thought I had several years ago when Lord March started the event. This concerned a class catering for the Specials which constituted a large percentage of the entries at Goodwood and many other tracks around the country. I believe there are enough Specials \u2014 Riley, MG, etc \u2014 to make for a very interesting field.<\/p>\n

Many of the current or late manufacturers started as Special builders: Healey, Allard, Cooper, Lotus and others. A race in tribute to the cars built and entered by the sometimes impecunious but always enthusiastic Special builders would not only be justified, but probably welcome to many owners \u2014 and spectators.<\/p>\n
