A capacity held of 1950s cars will contest the ‘Rally of the Tests’ from November 30 to December 2.<\/p>\n

This new event celebrates the 50th anniversary of the first competitive RAC Rally, as the 1951 event was the first to feature timed tests on private ground.<\/p>\n

Just as in 1951, it starts in Blackpool on Friday and finishes on Brighton’s seafront three days later.<\/p>\n

Leading the field away will be Arthur Senior, who finished in the top 10 in 1955.<\/p>\n

But perhaps the star car will be the Saab 93 driven by Erik Carlsson and Stuart Turner to victory in the 1960 RAC Rally.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere in the field will be the Reliant Sabre in which Roger Clark started his works rally career, ex-works Triumphs, Saabs and Austin Healeys.<\/p>\n
