Another Tamiya 1\/24-scale model which will be of interest to sports car enthusiasts is the Porsche 961 in its 1986 Le Mans trim. This is a representation of chassis number WPOZZZ93ZFSO10016, as driven by Rene Metge and Claude Ballot-Lena in plain white “unsponsored” livery. <\/p>\n

The model is of the “snap-loc” type -meaning that you do not have to use cement to construct it (though I would advise you to) -and as such it is meant primarily as it motorised children’s toy. <\/p>\n

However, if you dispense with the electric motor and do a little detail work, it will make it good showpiece for your shelf or display cabinet. The mouldings are good and detailed and the decal-sheet is of very high quality. <\/p>\n

My only gripe is that for some reason Tamiya has not supplied transparent parts h r the headlights, instead moulding them into the bodyshell. This means you will have to paint them an artificial-looking silver. <\/p>\n
