Not content with riding on the crest of a wave of circuit racing success, Lamborghini has made its off-road racing ambitions clear with this Hurac\u00e1n Sterrato concept.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sterrato, literally translated to \u2018Dirt\u2019, is by far the most bonkers iteration of Lambo\u2019s best-selling Hurac\u00e1n coup\u00e9 yet. Claimed to be the first genuine off-road supercar, the concept has been created after Lamborghini\u2019s engineers developed a fascination with off-road racing having worked on the recent Urus SUV \u2013 which itself is due to form the basis of a one-make rallycross-style racing series in 2020.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Sterrato has been raised by 47mm over the standard road car and has a wider track, balloon tyres and a full complement of underbody protection. There\u2019s also heavy duty composite bodywork and LED floodlights.<\/span><\/p>\n

Lamborghini does have a history of off-road oddities. Its test driver Bob Wallace modified both the Jarama and Urraco models into desert rally machines in 1973 and \u201974 respectively. <\/span><\/p>\n
