Cincinnati held its first road races on a triangular road course 15 miles northeast of the city centre. That was the culmination of a week's entertainment to celebrate the opening of the nearby Fern Bank dam. The start of the concurrent Cincinnati Trophy for 600 c.i. capacity cars and Hamilton County Trophy (300 c.i.) were delayed by an hour to let the muddy track dry. Eddie Hearne won the main event with John Jenkins's Cole second and winner of the small-capacity class.
