With Honda’s increasing involvement in Champ Car racing during the 1990s, the corporation decided to build a new oval to bring American racing to Japan. The Twin-Ring Motegi is a magnificent facility that boasts both a banked oval and a road course, both of which have separate pit lanes. The event was held for 14 years with the IndyCar Series visiting from 2003. It was here that Danica Patrick became the first woman to win an IndyCar race with a last-gasp victory in 2008.
