The permanent circuit at Río Cuarto has been operational since it was opened by Juan Manuel Fangio on 26 August 1959. Sudam-Am Formula 3 was a regular attraction during the 1990s with Gabriel Furlan a two-time winner. The Automóvil Club Río Cuarto extended the facility in 2006 to attract the Turismo Carretera, although the original Circuito No 1 is more regularly used. The 0.68-mile main straight, interrupted by an optional chicane, leads to the banked hairpin turn.
