Letters from readers, October 1985
Alexander-Turner Sir, May I offer some belated corrections and information on ML's excellent article on Jack Turner. Belated because my July copy only arrived today after reminders to your distribution…
Sir. Under the heading “Australian News ” the bore and stroke of Lyndon Duckett’s MercOdes are given as 07i-in. 75 mm.) by 7 (180 mum.). Are these figures quoted correctly ? I could believe either,
hut not both together. The 1907 ears were 175 by 150, and one of the 1908 ears measured 155 by 180. There is reason for thinking Duekett’s car to be a 1907 G.P. job, but the dimensions quoted leave the matter still in doubt. I am, Yours, etc.,
ANTHONY S. HEAL.
