Obituary
With deep regret we learn that Alan Fisher has died in a German hospital following an air crash in which he broke his back. Fisher was one of those quiet folk of whom no one knew very much of his achievements outside his circle of intimate friends. But he was a very skilled and painstaking aeronautical engineer who contributed much to the war effort in connection with aero-engine research at the R.A.E. He got quite exceptional results from his own cars, a Raleigh and a Fiat 500, had owned almost every sort of car and motorcycle from an old Scripps-Booth onwards, and was rebuilding a f.w.d. Tracta coupé very carefully indeed. Such persons can ill be spared. We extend our deepest sympathy to Mrs. Fisher, herself a keen motorist.
