The Late Paul Wyand

We deeply regret to report the death, in hospital on his 61st birthday, of Paul Wyand, who, as a young man, worked devotedly on Parry Thomas’ racing cars. (He was responsible for “Babs” when it made the tragic one-way journey to Pendine Sands in 1927 on a hired, solid-tyred Scammell lorry.) Wyand later achieved a world-wide reputation and the friendship of royalty as Movietone’s leading cameraman, and was a prominent figure at motor-racing events.
